Job Title: Shipfitter

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shipfitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural parts of ships, such as hulls, bulkheads, and frames, according to blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.

• Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.

• Align parts in relation to each other using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.

• Weld, bolt, and rivet parts together.

• Install and repair ship structures and components.

• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

• Follow safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Shipfitter or similar role.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong knowledge of welding and metal fabrication techniques.

• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills..

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
