Dietz & Watson Inc is a family business committed to quality above all else and never cutting corners. We are seeking a QA Associate for an entry level position to support food safety and quality assurance programs and activities.

Essential Functions:

• Visually inspects products at various stages of production.
• Selects products for overall quality
• Visually inspects packages for proper dates, codes, seals, and gas mixtures.
• Ensures metal detectors are working properly with relevant standards.
• Verifies correct net weight of product.
• Observes employees to ensure they are following good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
• Observes employees to ensure they are following "HACCP" critical control points
• Records relevant information on food tags
• Reviews hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) records for critical control points as it relates to how the product is cooked.
• Facility QC Tech spends the majority of their time on the plant floor.

Minimum Requirements 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma: college degree preferred
• Entry-level position
• Food or meat science education a plus
• Experience in a meat production facility a plus
• Must be able to work in a safety sensitive position
• Use of Microsoft Office Suite

Secondary Functions:

• Follow safe work processes
• Interacts with supervisors and co-workers regarding findings and recommendations
• Works in cold environment (about 30 degrees)
• Use of both hands
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing of stairs
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, and laboratory equipment.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and laboratory results.
• Requires lifting to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Requires exposure to machines, chemicals, and solvents.
• Use of Microsoft Office
