Job Summary The Drexel University PA SNAP-Ed/Eat Right Philly Program is a Pennsylvania SNAP-Ed partner funded through the USDA's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.  The mission of the program is to provide programming that improves the likelihood that SNAP-eligible participants with make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA food guidance. The program provides education programs and interventions to the School District of Philadelphia and to select community sites in the city. The Program Manager reports to the Assistant Program Director and works to provide nutrition education programming in selected sites as well as supervise a team of Nutrition Coordinators who conduct this programming in other selected sites. Candidates for the Program Manager role should have a sound knowledge of nutrition, be an enthusiastic presenter, be highly organized, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. This position is responsible for conducting programs, accurate and timely reporting, and management of a team of nutrition coordinators. This candidate must also have interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with stakeholders and staff in sites to grow and expand programming. This position is reliant on annual grant funding. Drexel has been awarded this funding since 2002. Essential Functions Provides approved nutrition education and programs in schools within the SDP and in eligible community sites to school-age and adult populations. Seeks opportunities for PSE interventions in sites. Participates in Back-to-School nights, health fairs, workshops and other school and community events. Schedules visits, prepares, and implements lesson plans which meet the overall goals and objectives of PA SNAP-Ed. Conducts site visits and interfaces with SDP and community site personnel. Assists in data collection and conducts evaluation activities as directed. Prepares materials necessary for execution of nutrition education sessions. Supervises/Participates in the review and revision of educational materials as necessary. Utilizes Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Coordinates and conducts activities involving supervision of nutrition education for school age and adult participants. Supervises, trains, supports, and evaluates nutrition coordinators on an ongoing basis. Adheres to policies and procedures of Drexel University and those applicable to SPD. Maintains confidentiality of Drexel and SDP records, policies, and procedures. Maintains security of all Drexel and SDP property. Completes all required trainings and ensures teams members complete their trainings. Accurately documents programming, as required, and submits for data entry in a timely fashion. Collects and prepares necessary data to complete job, including, but not limited to: contact reports, site evaluations, calendars, travel and activity reports, etc. Supervises the timely and accurate submission of reports and projects from the assigned team of nutrition coordinators. Maintains excellent working relations with SDP personnel, community site personnel, and close working relationships with Drexel University staff. Participates in conferences, workshops and conducts professional development for teachers, nurses, principals, and staff within the SDP. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Please review the  Equivalency Chart for additional information. 3-5 years of experience Experience conducting Nutrition Education Programming and presentations with K-12 students and adults. xperience in conducting food demonstrations and in food preparation. Knowledge of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the MyPlate Food Guidance. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to multi-task effectively and maintain organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Reliable form of transportation is required Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree or Registered Dietitian Gardening knowledge, skills and experience. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630 - $81,940.  Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
