Summary:

  • The 2nd shift manager has responsibilities of the oversight of Periop Patient Transporters and overseeing the safe and efficient transport of patients to and from the OR's in HUP, PCAM and Pavillion.

  • Cycle cleaning of all Operating Rooms, floor care for all departments, contaminated and municipal waste collection and removal, policing schedule for all patient and staff areas. Detailed cleaning projects for survey readiness and construction projects. daily cleaning of entire department.

  • Maintains master file of all documents used by environmental services staff. Plans and implements approved procedures related to cleaning and support functions. Acts as a liaison between Hospital Environmental Services and Perioperative Services. Assumes lead role in JCAHO preparation of environment of care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Directly responsible for the management of the staff who support the terminal/ cycle cleaning of all operating rooms and procedure rooms.

  2. Direct management of the staff who perform daily and project cleaning across the entire department.

  3. Emphasizes a culture of service excellence

  4. Audit work process for EVS staff for quality improvement.

  5. Responds to requests for service from ALL staff in a professional and cooperative manner (anesthesia. surgeons, nurses, etc) to meet patient care needs and the environmental needs

  6. Interface with internal and external customers -patient care units, physical plant, clinical engineering, materials management, regulatory office, etc.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required) with 3-5 years of management experience in a high demand, fast paced operational environment.

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Preferred) Business, Health Care Administration or Related fieldEquivalent Experience and 4+ years' Experience in a Healthcare setting.
