Entity: Penn Primary Care and Specialty Practices (PPC/PSP)

Department: OB-GYN

Location: 800 Walnut, Philadelphia, PA

Hours: Full-Time, Per Departmental Needs

Summary:

  • The OB Coordinator supports the Practice Manager and physicians by tracking and monitoring OB patients, charts, and testing in addition to providing patient education.

Responsibilities:

  • Records all new OB patients and monitors changes, distributes lists/reports as requested

  • Maintains PPD program

  • Pre-certs all OB patients

  • Orders medication with third party authorization and maintains log

  • Liaison between practice and Labor and Delivery at the hospital

  • Audits OB charts and maintains results flow (blood work, ultrasound, correspondence, etc.)

  • Follows-up on any changes from physicians’ OB chart reviews, appropriately communicates results to physicians

  • Handle patient prescriptions with the pharmacy with appropriate clinical supervision

  • Assists physician with direct patient care when appropriate

  • Schedules all associated OB testing and appointments and provide patients with instructions

  • Provides OB patients with diabetic testing supplies and scripts, refers patients to diabetic teaching & nutritional counseling

  • Acts as point of contact for non-emergent OB triage, triage patient calls with appropriate clinical supervision

  • Writes OB lab slips for patients with appropriate clinical supervision

Credentials:

  • MA-AAMA or MA-AMT or MA-NCCT or MA-NHA (Preferred)

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (Preferred)

  • LPN or RN licensure in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as appropriate (Preferred)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • 3+ years' experience in healthcare setting, preferably in Women's Health. MA Cert required if not LPN/RN licensed (Required)

  • Associate of Arts or Science/Bachelor of Arts or Science and 1+ years preferably in Women's Health setting (Preferred)
