Job Summary The Drexel University PA SNAP-Ed/Eat Right Philly Program is a Pennsylvania SNAP-Ed partner funded through the USDA's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.  The mission of the program is to provide programming that improves the likelihood that SNAP-eligible participants with make healthy food choices within a limited budget and choose physically active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA food guidance. The program provides education programs and interventions to the School District of Philadelphia and to select community sites in the city. The Nutrition Coordinator 10/12 Month reports to the Program Manager and works to provide nutrition education programming in selected schools in the School District of Philadelphia and community sites. Candidates for this role should have a sound knowledge of nutrition, be an enthusiastic presenter, be highly organized, and possess strong communication skills. This position is responsible for planning, preparing and conducting interactive and engaging nutrition programs per guidelines, working with sites to plan a program schedule, and accurate and timely reporting. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with stakeholders and staff in sites to grow and expand programming. This position is reliant on annual grant funding. Drexel has been awarded this funding since 2002. Essential Functions Plans, schedules, organizes, prepares and implements nutrition education and programs in schools within the SDP and in select community sites to school-age and adult populations Builds site relationships and seeks new opportunities to grow and develop impactful programs. Participates in SDP school programs and committees, seeking opportunities to extend program work Participates in allowable school and community events to implement programming Assists in data collection and evaluation of programs, including participation in presentations of PA SNAP-Ed work. Accurately documents programming, as required, and submits documentation and reporting in a timely fashion Adheres to University, Program and applicable School District of Philadelphia policies and procedures Completes University, Program and applicable SDP trainings as required. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Please review the  Equivalency Chart for additional information. 1-2 years of relevant experience Experience conducting Nutrition Education presentations with K-12 and/or adult populations Experience in food preparation Knowledge of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans  and the MyPlate Food Guidance Experience with Microsoft Office Applications Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to maintain organization Physical Requirements Typically sitting at a desk/table Typically standing, walking Lifting demands  50lbs Location Center City - Philadelphia, PA Additional Information This position is classified as exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
