DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Medical Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to support our Veteran Affairs Operations in Philadelphia, PA.
What part would you play in this role? As a Medical QA Specialist, you will work closely with medical providers and the Veterans Administration to ensure the documentation process is complete and accurate. In this role, you will review documentation sent over from medical providers and ensure the report is complete, concise, clear, and correct and the provider has accurately completed the Disability Benefit Questionnaires for delivery back to the VA.
In this rewarding role, you will: * Review exam reports sent over from medical providers * Ensure all medical coding is complete and accurate * Ensure all tests have been ordered and completed, and present in the medical record * Coordinate with medical providers as needed for clarification of reports * Work with our in house appointment schedules to request additional appointments for the veteran as necessary * Learn more from one of current QA's here!
You must have: * High School diploma, or equivalent (GED) * Minimum of 1 year of Healthcare, medical, or insurance-related industry experience * Extensive knowledge and understanding of anatomy and medical terminology * Understanding of medical conditions and their progression in the body * Ability to read and analyze medical reports * Ability to apply clinical reasoning (diagnostic testing) * Ability to write clear questions to submit to the provider * Experience working with medical providers (credentialing, medical coding, chart audits, triage, scribe, nursing) * Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision. * Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively utilize available resources to find solutions. * Self-motivated and proactive in task management, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement.
Preferred to have: * Allied medical professional certification, or relevant college, or vocational training in the medical field, i.e. LVN, CNA, Military Corpsman/Medic, EMT, MA, etc. * Experience assisting with medical tests, treatments and procedures * Knowledge of military medical examinations or experience working with the VA * Knowledge of general disability claims, workers compensation, or audits

Typical Day: * Mon -- Thursday: 8:30am -- 5pm EST, Friday- Remote Work * Positions are located ONSITE at our Philadelphia, PA located 1617 JFK Boulevard
* 4-6 months of coaching, foundational, and mentorship training * Upon graduation of training, potential for hybrid schedule or four 10 hour day shifts will be offered pending availability **4x10 not available for CA residents
Pay and Benefits: * Starting pay: $23.10 per hour with a 5% increase after successfully completing 4- 6 months of training. * Eligible for a quarterly bonus up to 6% and annual merit increases

Education Required GED or better. High School Diploma or better.
Preferred Corpsman or better. Foreign Medical Graduate or better. Technical/other training or better in Army Practical Nursing. Technical/other training or better in Combat Medic. Technical/other training or better in HM Navy Medic. Technical/other training or better in Medical Assistant. Technical/other training or better in Vocational Nursing.
Experience Required Experience with case management software, electronic medical records and medical databases Direct healthcare experience in medical case management or quality assurance to include the review of complex multi-focal medical reports for quality, clarity, thoroughness and insightful medical explanation Less than 1 year: Healthcare, medical, or insurance related industry experience
