As Managing Director, Financial reporting and Tax Valuation - You are an entrepreneurial and dynamic leader, excited to develop and grow Colliers Financial Reporting and Tax group. You will will have ten or more years of direct financial reporting and tax valuation experience and are seeking the opportunity to accelerate your career as both a people leader and revenue generator.
In this role, you will...
Originate new financial reporting valuation engagements on a national scale.
Execute valuation and appraisal assignments (financial reporting, purchase accounting, Net Asset Value, periodic reporting, tax, lending, etc.) for corporate clients, REITs (publicly traded & non-traded), pension funds, open and closed-end funds, lenders, etc.
Communicate with clients and foster new and existing client relationships.
Manage the daily activities of real estate staff (Directors, Senior Associates, and Analysts). Responsibilities will include training and mentoring, determining the scope of work, preparing and reviewing deliverables, signing appraisal/valuation reports, and providing periodic staff feedback and performance reviews.
Independently gather data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction, including personal & telephone Interviews with Brokers and Property Managers.
Assist with preparing and presenting the results of our analysis clearly and concisely.
What you'll bring
15+ years of related work experience.
Proven ability to generate revenue from external clients. Deep relationships with auditors, REITs, and Private Equity industries.
Active Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license(s) and other professional designations (MAI, ASA, MRICS/FRICS).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Argus Enterprise. Expertise in discounted cash flow, Sales Comparison Approach, Cost Approach, and Highest & Best Use.
Considerable experience with ASC 805, ASC 360, ASC 842, US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards, and IRS regulations.

Team player mentality with excellent communication skills.
Bachelor's degree required: Master's degree in real estate or finance preferred.
Big Four or boutique real estate valuation firm experience preferred.
