General Job Description: This is labor protection investigative work receiving and responding to informational inquiries, conducting compliance investigations, delivering written findings, and issuing violations when applicable under the law related to wage and benefits in the City of Philadelphia Department of Labor. Employees in this class address internal relations regarding benefits and wage compliance with City departments and external businesses. Employees support outreach and communication efforts to stakeholders to ensure compliance with Philadelphia Labor Ordinances. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior.

 

The Requirements are as follows: 

EDUCATION 

Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university.  

AND

EXPERIENCE:

Three years of experience in labor law investigations, labor relations, labor organizing or providing legal assistance, paralegal support, or case management experience.

AND  

BILINGUAL SPECIALTY: Sufficient training and/or experience to be able to understand and speak fluently and clearly in English and the designated non-English language.  

*NOTE: *Additional experience as outlined above may substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.  

*NOTE: *Completion of a master's degree or juris doctor degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.
