The Cigna Group Head of Finance Communications in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Summary

The Cigna Group has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and motivated executive communications professional to join our Communications team. Specifically, this individual will lead the development and execution of the executive communications strategy for senior leaders in The Cigna Group’s Finance organization, including Cigna's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as well as lead communications for the Finance organization. Areas of focus include a comprehensive executive communications plan (inclusive of internal and external engagement), leadership of Finance communications (both employee and leadership communications), and large project communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop executive communications strategy, platform, and execute plans for The Cigna Group's CFO in partnership with Senior Director, Business Communications; Deputy Corporate CFO (who leads Accounting, Treasury, Corporate Tax, etc); business-line CFOs; and the broader Finance organization.

  • Partner closely and proactively with The Cigna Group's senior Finance leadership team to plan and respond to evolving communication needs, both internally and externally.

  • Lead and develop a wide variety of executive communications such as speeches, presentations, conference materials, briefings, leadership messages, organizational announcements, and intranet content, among others.

  • Partner closely with the Media Relations team to proactively identify and prepare for relevant media opportunities, conferences, and interviews as part of the executive communications strategy.

  • Lead large-scale communication programs for the Finance organization, as relevant.

  • Build communications that address the company’s global employee population in the development and implementation of communication strategies and tactics, when appropriate.

  • Monitor and evaluate results of Finance communications, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.

  • The ability to travel to The Cigna Group's headquarters in Bloomfield, CT, along with other occasional U.S. domestic travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications and at least 10-15 years’ experience in a finance-focused corporate communications role or public relations agency; health care industry experience is a plus.

  • Experience in external and internal financial communications (e.g., investor relations, company financials, business finance, CFO support).

  • Strong executive speechwriting skills required.

  • Extensive media relations, particularly financial media experience, required.

  • Experience in employee, executive, and department communications.

  • Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.

  • Clear experience and strength in market-facing communications for a publicly traded company.

  • Experience working with Investor Relations preferred.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to navigate and understand the broader organization to bring strategic counsel to the Finance leadership team.

  • Track record of success handling multiple projects and ability to tie results to strategic business objectives.

  • Influence and coordination skills to work with other internal areas and outside vendors to meet deadlines.

  • Ability and comfort managing multiple requests and flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.

  • Proven ability to work in a team setting.

  • Tact and discretion to work with employees at all levels.

  • Must be available to travel into the Connecticut office as needed.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 133,700 - 222,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
