Summary:

  • Responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of Hospital Echocardiography program in a proactive and responsible manner including the completion of specific daily job assignments and overseeing patient scheduling and flow. Responsible for department facility and equipment and continuous quality improvement. Spends approximately 20% of time in administrative/supervisory role and 80% in HUP patient care assignment. This % is subject to change as needed for the department and patient care. May also be assigned to cover PCAM location if necessary to care for patients. On call is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the hospital Echocardiography program including clinical care schedule, flow and processes.

  • Frontline person to triage issues throughout the day for HUP Echo.

  • Collaborate with technical director, staff and physicians to improve HUP Echo processes and to resolve issues as they arise Collaborate with Echo Leadership team to develop and execute long term solutions to issues.

  • Perform daily patient care as needed as staff Echo Technologist.

  • Monitor daily work volume and adjust assignments accordingly and Ensure HUP Echo schedule completed daily.

  • Collaborate with Technical Director to develop staffing recommendations/justifications or to modify scheduling guidelines, practices, and models.

  • Lead the Echo Quality Assurance program in collaboration with the Technical and Medical Director and assist in ICAEL reaccreditation.

  • Maintain everyday readiness compliance with all regulatory agencies regarding patient care, safety, confidentiality, DOH & TJC requirements, etc.

Credentials:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required)

  • Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographer (Required)

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Cardiovascular/Cardiopulmonary technology/healthcare scienceEquivalent Experience:•And 5+ years Echocardiography experience

  • Other (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Certificate in fieldEquivalent Experience:•2+ years Supervisory or charge/lead experience highly preferred
