DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Early Learning Program Certification Representative, you conduct inspections of childcare facilities and assess compliance with regulations that are in place to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated childcare settings. You are responsible for conducting complaint investigations when allegations of regulatory noncompliance are alleged. In addition, you investigate allegations of illegally operating facilities.

In this position, you travel extensively to facilities located in urban, suburban, and rural areas of the Commonwealth. This work allows you to be on the leading edge of regulatory and policy changes that impact children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement. You will have the ability to be home headquartered after six (6) months on the job. Must be willing to travel frequently. Travel expenses will be paid. Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.
