E-Learning Designer

Job Summary:

  • OncoLink's mission is to help cancer patients make educated treatment decisions, be active participants in their care, and be their own advocates. We provide up-to-date cancer information on the web, free of charge. In addition, we provide comprehensive e-learning programs to healthcare professionals via a learning management system. We are a small but passionate and collaborative team looking for an e-learning designer to join our team.

  • In this role, you will develop engaging digital learning programs that align with our e-learning clients' educational goals. You will support the OncoLink e-learning team to maximize the capabilities of our learning management system and investigate new technologies, industry trends, and best practices to take our training programs to the next level. Your role will involve communicating and collaborating with subject matter experts to gather content, design interactive modules, and ensure content delivery through various e-learning platforms (i.e. learning management system, podcasts, videos, immersive simulations, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, proficiency in multimedia development applications (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar software), and a passion for creating innovative learning experiences for healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, and maintain modularized e-learning content including assessments, scenario-based training, interactive elements, presentation material, facilitator guides, and participant material.

  • Employ design thinking, digital design, and agile development processes to create learning modules that drive learning engagement and retention and consider the modern learner.

  • Work effectively with various health system departments, subject matter experts, and content specialists to source the necessary documentation and information.

  • Evaluate performance trends and define learning strategies to continually improve our programs.

  • Work with the OncoLink e-learning team to develop and implement programs, which may include project management, guidance and support for learning solutions, and evaluation for continuous improvement of programming. Take a project from big picture to planning out the details and bringing it to life.

  • Contribute and work collaboratively in a team setting, iterate solutions, exhibit adaptability, and explore new tools/approaches to deliver creative solutions.

  • Collaborate with the OncoLink webmaster and content manager to enhance and expand OncoLink assets.

  • Complete assigned tasks on schedule. May require occasional travel.

  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional/Digital Design Technology, Digital Media Design, Visual Communication, Instructional Design or related field (Required).

  • 5+ years of experience creating online learning programming, utilizing industry standard applications (Required).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience utilizing learning management systems, as well as industry standard formats and applications such as SCORM, xAPI, Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Premier Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Camtasia, After Effects, Adobe Animate. Experience editing photos, vectors, and videos.

  • Experience applying adult learning and design best practices to develop engaging and effective learning resources.

  • Ability to create engaging and informative content in various formats.

  • Strong attention to detail in developing and publishing learning solutions and ensuring accuracy and quality of content.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business partners and maintain productive professional relationships.
