Hill International, Inc. Disaster Recovery Housing Inspector in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 10820 Hill International is seeking Disaster Recovery Housing Inspectors in the United States to join our Disaster Recovery Team. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the community following a disaster and contribute to the recovery efforts in the United States. This is an on-call opportunity where the duration is determined by the size of the response needed. There is no guarantee of deployment to the field and no minimum number of days for which a deployment may last. Deployment could require long hours and working seven days a week.

HConduct damage assessments according to FEMA specifications and FEMA Inspection Guidelines Explain FEMA-provided documents and answer basic questions from applicants about the process Perform to the standards established in the Performance Requirements Summary and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract Assess damage to the roof from the ground; assess damage in the crawlspace from the exterior and damages to personal property and furnishings and entering the required information into the FEMA software Collect data related to the extent of damage to real property; private and multi-family properties, road and bridge repairs, the habitability of the home; ownership, occupancy, and insurance verification information; the extent of damage to personal property and vehicles; information regarding other disaster expenses and needs; and area access issues Return assessments in a timely manner to prevent survivor displacement and to avoid undue burden on emergency resources with emphasis placed on the initial days following the disaster Other duties may be assigned

High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Prior FEMA Housing Inspector or Disaster Recovery experience is preferred Proficient in basic math and computer skills required Must have a valid Drivers License and US work authorization The work to be performed under this contract may occur in the Continental United States and Outside Continental United States simultaneously. The work may include one or multiple County(s) within State(s), United States Territory(s), or Tribal Nation(s) Maintain all issued equipment including FEMA contract badge Must be willing to complete all required FEMA training before deployment Be available for deployment within 24 hours depending on location of disaster Respond promptly to Hill staff in regards to deployment Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Conditions may be challenging in areas affected by disasters, including limited lodging availability. Ability to work in a stressful environment yet capable of delivering exemplary customer service with professionalism. Ability to walk up and down stairs to access all levels of dwelling and on uneven terrain. Attire must be clean and professional while working. Personal hygiene must be maintained while working. Extended travel required. Inspectors will be required to travel to the disaster site to complete damage assessments.
