Description

Job Summary

TheDC Power Engineerposition is responsible for design, budgeting, sales and installation support for DC Power and Infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with end customers and design engineers to provide technical solutions.

  • Analyze standards, construction drawings, project plans, and site survey data to gain a thorough understanding of projects assigned as well as review for accuracy and discrepancies.

  • Create detailed estimates that include materials, labor, equipment, and logistics.

  • Prepare and submit bids, proposals, RFI’s, and change orders.

  • Takes into account the following:

  • Internal and subcontracted labor costs and situations.

  • Feedback from sales and project managers regarding costs and competition.

  • Customer specific requirements and standards.

  • Risks.

  • Run budget review meetings with internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare installation packages for construction teams.

  • Provide technical support to the sales and operations teams.

  • Present technical and complex information in a simplified manner to different stakeholders.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm necessary take-offs, Interface with clients on bid-walks and via conference calls.

  • Must be able to both travel and work from a home office.

Position Requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Strong experience and ability using math and spreadsheets.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized.

  • Ability to interact with various estimation software and data sources (Accubid preferred).

  • The ideal candidate would sit in the NY metro, NJ, Eastern PA Mid-Atlantic tri-state region.

Education & Experience

  • Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or equal prior experience.

  • 2-4 years of DC Power and infrastructure Engineering experience in a Telco Carrier Central Office or equivalent Data center environment.

  • Successful experience with project budgets, forecasting project costs, change orders, billings, job costing, and more.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time Exempt position. Days and hours of work are Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Being an exempt employee may require working outside of normal business hours described above in order to fulfil the job expectations of this position. An appropriate level of communication about expected hours of work between the remote employee and supervisor will be agreed to as part of the discussion process and will be more formal during the trial period.
