The job is responsible for supporting the Community Relations Manager in the company?s Community efforts.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Aramark Community Relations Specialist is part of the Corporate Affairs team. This position will support community relations programs, volunteer projects, community events, various internal and external communications, database management, and impact data collection and analysis. The position is primarily focused on the enterprise community impact and volunteer program, Aramark Building Community (ABC). Aramark Building Community empowers employees to support volunteer projects that demonstrate our year-round commitment to enabling a healthy and equitable society.

The ideal candidate is one with experience serving as an internal business partner and enabler providing measurable strategic support to their manager. The ideal candidate must also be able to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders including company executives, volunteers, and community organizations with customer-centric service and solutions-based outcomes. The team is small and highly collaborative. We are focused on delivering a high level of event management, problem solving, and attentive service while executing a number of detail-oriented events and service projects.

Job Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with manager to plan and execute Aramark Building Community Service activities, including the creation of internal communications materials, project leader support and communications, photography, promotions and other communication aspects of service.

  • Database management, including tracking employee engagement leveraging our Community Involvement web portal and collecting impact stats from project leaders, community partners and volunteers.

  • Provide detailed evaluation and analysis of impact across multiple projects and survey results.

  • Partner with DEI team as it relates to Employee Resource Group (ERG) marketplace activities and service projects.

  • Develop social media content to be shared with Corporate Communications colleagues.

  • Create and distribute community newsletter and other communications promoting service projects, volunteer events and other related activities and awareness campaigns.

  • Assist with event planning including logistics, communications, and other components.

  • Draft numerous communications for internal and external audiences.

  • Provide research and benchmarking support for various initiatives which could include global volunteer programs, disaster relief, employee engagement, community and civic engagement, and others.

  • Work with local teams across the country to track year-round community involvement work and update and maintain proposal documents to support client retention and new business.

  • Provide annual outcome and success metrics to Star Teams, Lines of Business and other key stakeholders.

  • Support/advise in the planning and execution of community events, service projects and Star Team engagement events.

  • Assist manager and project leaders by fostering long-term relationships with local and national nonprofit and community-based organizations.

  • Manage Star Team and community pages on the myERG platform and internal site.

  • Review and revise existing resources to adapt to changing needs or new service project opportunities.

  • Assist in data management and measurement evaluation.

  • Responsible for successfully completing daily tasks and/or project work assigned by manager.

SCOPE:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of three to five years of experience working in a corporate, agency or non-profit environment.

  • Experience and/or career interest in community relations, corporate social responsibility, or nonprofit work.

  • Exceptionally strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work with autonomy.

  • Must have substantive knowledge of community relations, the nonprofit sector, event planning, customer service and employee engagement.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with Aramark leaders and external community organizations.

  • Must be collaborative and proactively service oriented.

  • Will need the ability to respond effectively to changing demands.

  • Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, SmartSheet and social media platforms.

  • Previous nonprofit, grant writing and event planning experience preferred.

  • Must be comfortable in a dynamic environment and able to manage multiple priorities, events and relationships simultaneously.

  • Must be very detail-oriented and able to manage complex events and activities, often at the same time.

  • Flexibility for location or event-based hours.

  • Travel time 5-10%.

Qualifications

  • Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management or related Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) experience preferred.

  • Must have experience working with nonprofit organizations, employee engagement and volunteer project management.

  • Experience in event planning and project management.

  • Excellent writing skills and experience with various social media platforms.

  • Experience and/or career interest in Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Social Governance, nonprofit work, philanthropy and events management.

  • Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills.

  • Aramark operations experience a plus.

  • Ability to identify, build and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Critical thinker who can solve problems while working collaboratively throughout the organization

Bachelors preferred
