DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An employee in this job performs complex clerical work requiring the application of independent judgment, or functions as a lead worker over moderately complex clerical work. Work involves office or program support functions in reviewing and processing data, information, forms, and other documents; and includes the keyboarding of data and information into computer systems. Duties may involve creating and formatting documents, organizing and verifying information, performing mathematical calculations, maintaining files and records, or assisting the public in completing governmental forms or obtaining general information about programs and services. Work may include providing general clerical support to other staff or for overall office operations. Work is performed with considerable independence and minimal review; however, changes in operational standards, procedures, and work policies are discussed in detail with the supervisor prior to implementation.

The Clerical Assistant 3 supports the assigned Appeals Referee and UCBR Referee office through the performance of the following job duties: Manage Referee's hearing schedule Prepare hearing notices Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Transcribe decisions from digital recording and prepare decisions from typed drafts Proofread documents and verify data Input data and maintain electronic and paper files Greet clients and handle client Inquiries by various means Proficiently navigate PC/applications/systems Interpret documentation and records Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Work hours are negotiable based on operational needs. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week after the successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
