Job Description Summary

The Athletics Operations Assistant provides support to Athletic Operations within the Department of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania. This position will primarily work night and weekend shifts supervising evening programming and facilities and supporting any athletic or business development event operation needs. This position will take direction from multiple supervisors, Associate Director of Game Operations & Coordinator of Athletic Operations

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary or secondary event manager of home athletic and business development events as assigned.

  • Manage setup & breakdown of all home athletic competitions or business development events.

  • Provide area facility supervision of Franklin Field, the Palestra, Penn Park, River Fields Complex, & the Tse Sports Center.

  • Oversee evening & weekend programming and work study staff in assigned areas.

  • Perform Operations administrative work as assigned.

  • Perform tasks related to game management when necessary (clock/scoreboard operation, PA announcer, ball runner, play music, ticket scanning, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree candidate in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in a collegiate athletics & recreation department desired, preferably in event operations or customer service.

  • Must possess strong oral communication skills and be self-motivated to accomplish tasks on your own.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Pay Range
