University of Pennsylvania Associate or Full Professor, Academic Clinician, General Pediatrics - Primary Care in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Primary Care Network and the Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The applicant must be an outstanding pediatric clinician and an outstanding pediatric educator, and the applicant must have a strong academic area of concentration. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include bedside clinical and didactic teaching of residents, fellows, and/or medical students. Enthusiasm and dedication to educating our residents and students are highly valued.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing outstanding clinical care in CHOP Primary Care, supervising clinical providers, including resident physicians and nurse practitioners, and providing performance feedback. In addition, responsibilities may include reviewing current pediatric standards of care and work with leadership team to implement new processes as needed, and responding to clinical alerts and updates from public health officials and others.

Candidates must demonstrate a defined area of academic concentration as well as sustained professionalism. The academic concentration can be in the areas of clinical care, education, quality improvement, patient safety, research, health policy, or other areas pertinent to the wellbeing of children and improvement of health care for children. In this role, some level of support for the candidate to pursue this area of concentration may be possible.
