University of Pennsylvania Assistant Professor – Assistant/Associate Director of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of immunology and flow cytometry with the ability to lead the development and clinical validation of new laboratory tests. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. MD applicants must be board certified/eligible in Clinical Pathology (AP/CP or CP) and be eligible for a medical license in the state of Pennsylvania. M.D./Ph.D. applicants board-eligible or certified by the Medical Laboratory Immunology/ CPEP program are preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of rotating residents, fellows, and supporting medical school education.

Clinical responsibilities may include implementing new assays and improving and updating existing assays in accordance with regulatory guidelines. This individual will serve as the Assistant/Associate Director of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory to meet the needs of our fast-expanding test menu (CAP, CLIA), clinical test analysis and sign-out. The Assistant/Associate Director is expected to interface with Pathology staff, clinicians, and scientists in identifying and investigating new test requests.
