You'll utilise your strong technical knowledge and capability within the team, with responsibility for providing the majority of the first line technical input to our solutions that can be offered to customers for Field Services or Repairs. Acting as an extension of our Technical Support function, you'll embed within our Sales and Projects Teams, playing a central role in identifying and winning new business to increase our customer base.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • This is a hybrid Field and Office based role sat within the Sales and Projects Team.

  • Supporting our sales process to include site visits and working with colleagues to tender for work.

  • Prospecting - To seek out, research and contact companies that could be potential customers.

  • To be a problem solver, and not afraid to use new ideas / initiatives and challenge our processes.

  • Project management of assigned projects and work packages.

  • Continually update personal knowledge of relevant new technologies, legal, safety, contractual and export compliance regulations.

  • Ensure that the highest levels of quality assurance are maintained for all activities within scope of the role.

  • Ownership of the work scopes, risk assessments, method statements and other associated procedures for maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning of assignment products.

  • While on site observe health and safety at work procedures and complete all required Risk Assessments.

  • Secure orders by means of careful evaluation of customer needs, prompt and correct response and offering pricing that maximizes profit to the company

  • Respond to all customers enquiries and progress orders in a timely and professional manner.

  • Technical liaison between company and the client on new enquiries, understanding/interpreting the customers’ requirements and delivering competitive technical and commercial proposals.

  • Assist in the development of growth strategies and plans, by building on success and identifying areas which need improvement.

  • Prompt follow up of enquiries to maximise order intake

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent.

  • Time served Indentured Apprenticeship to a recognised National Standard.

  • Expert knowledge and first-hand experience of assigned products to include trouble shooting, overhaul, repair, fault finding, installation and commissioning.

  • Self-starting and a drive to take responsibility for all aspects of the role

  • Very customer focused with demonstrable experience

  • Able to produce detailed written technical documents including but not limited to site reports, root cause analysis of failures, method statements, scopes of work and project plans.

  • Project Management skillset with demonstrable experience

  • Ability to supervise others at site during complex installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.

  • Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual.

  • Very good appreciation and understanding of business and commercial issues in relation to the role.

  • An eye for detail and working diligently to ensure activities are fully completed to conclusion.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
