About the job

The Head of HUB plays a critical role in the development, execution, and transformation of Sanofi’s Business Operations (BO) and Global HUB Operations & Transition Management strategies. Particularly also for the scope expansion which could be embedded into the BO organization or for “hosted” functions which are also leveraging the hub location.

The Head of HUB will oversee and manage organizational setup, assist with transitions coming into the hub, and furthermore contributes to initiative which strive enhanced customer service, supports process efficiency and creates business value. As member of the Heads of Hubs community, s/he is also responsible to bring Business Operation’s organizational vision to life locally and monitor trends in the local / global GBS industry.

The Head of HUB oversees / coordinates the organizational set-up across the various functions represented in the hub location towards external stakeholders, ensuring a harmonized employee experience for Business Operations and hosted teams (such as Digital and R&D).

Furthermore, s/he promotes and represents BO / Sanofi in the local market and develops a high-performance mindset with a strong emphasis on development and engagement of its people as part of Sanofi culture.

The Head of Hub adds significant value, specialized to manage activities from different GBUs and functions inside and outside Business Operations. In addition, s/he leads by influencing and partnering with multiple interfaces to ensure a consistent hub framework and strong governance. It is a key role to demonstrate value realization, ensure employee engagement and being a magnet for local talent, feeding a new leadership pipeline for GBUs/GFs in MCOs and key markets.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Governance

  • Together with peers and the BO leadership, co-create and drive an ongoing Business

  • Operations organization’s vision. Co-develop and maintain the HUB business case, ensure transitions and work placement needs are met on time and budget

  • Implement and maintain Hub Governance to ensure suitable governance practices are in place in compliance with internal and external rules and regulation (incl. controls framework, Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility, etc.) in alignment with respective business partners (such as P&C, Finance, Digital etc.)

  • Establish robust business continuity framework, ensuring business continuity

  • Create a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence

Transition & Operations Management

  • Support the transition activities into the hub and ensuring collaboration with local organizations to support the transitions (in line with business case)

  • Oversight and On-site escalation point for any other transition related planning and support

  • Ensure required site support operations and necessary internal, external support services are in place for the operations

  • Maintain high quality and optimal office environment to support collaboration and agility

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining regular reporting packages and track key performance indicators, incidents striving for timely solutions

Stakeholder Management & Employee Engagement

  • Establish reliable internal/external relationships with the sector associations, institutes, GBS networks and government units

  • Act as a first line escalation point for local, regional, global stakeholders to support operational excellence and client satisfaction

  • Help influence and onboard different stakeholders across functional domains on the hub strategy through sharing concrete examples of value creation, success stories, hosting visits to hubs and participating in market places in countries

  • Ensure the right visibility and appearance of Sanofi Business Services branding and values in the local GBS market

  • Develop and promote Corporate Social Responsibility programs as well as Employee Resource Groups in the hub to promote Sanofi and its reputational image

People & Talent Acquisition

  • Support Talent Acquisition in implementing an effective recruitment strategy and improve recognition of Sanofi in the local Business Services community to attract talent

  • Oversee the recruitment, staffing and workforce ramp up for the hub – for embedded and hosted functions

  • Contribute actively to the talent management process, support consistent identification and management of talents at hub level – both for BO as hosted functions

  • Mentor and coach the hub leadership team to ensure we are best in class in terms of speed, cost and quality

  • Set up and maintain partnership with universities to promote Sanofi Business Services mission and objectives and ensure access to young talents

  • Represent the hub locally and internationally (e.g., labor market, fairs & events, etc.)

  • Act as escalation instance for all recruitment topics and drive alternative resource solutions if required (including transition planning)

About You

Professional experience

  • Strong experience in complex, global transformations and operations and/or consulting in GBS industry

  • Proven leadership skills with a large team

  • Experience in creating and maintaining operating, governance model, combined with external best practice

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable plans

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, working with senior stakeholders

  • Developed business partnering, collaboration, trust-building and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work transversally and within a highly matrixed environment

  • International experience and ability to work with a diverse team

Qualifications

  • Primary degree or equivalent in a related field is required - postgraduate qualification is desirable.

  • Fluent in English; fluency in second language is a plus
