The Toro Company Facilities Support II - Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma

Day Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Facilities Support II at Ditch Witch:

This employee supports the Perry Campus and works in the cardboard bailing and trash compactor area. He or she must possess a current CDL and will regularly operate disposal truck on campus and for local travel in addition to regular duties. This position reports directly to the Operations Supervisor for Custodial Support. He or she will also perform other duties as assigned.

What Will You Do?

  • Gathers, loads and compacts cardboard.

  • Empties the trash dumpsters and compacts contents for disposal.

  • Operates the sweeper/scrubber, forklift or “whiz bang.”

  • Delivers waste to Tonkawa waste management site approximately once per week, more often as needed.

  • Performs routine service on PIE (powered industrial equipment).

  • Drives various company vehicles (cars or light pick-ups).

  • Assists with company events by moving office furniture, setting up, tearing down and cleaning up.

  • Performs multiple tasks that require overhead reaching throughout workday.

What Do You Need?

  • High school or GED required.

  • 2-5 years of experience in related field required; forklift experience required.

  • Possess a current CDL.

  • Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills. This includes the ability to understand written instructions, record transactions accurately, and perform basic calculations.

  • Must have a good driving record.

  • Able to regularly handle items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push/pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.

  • Able to work overtime on very short notice.

  • Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.

  • Work independently much of the time, with limited supervision.

  • Through behavior and communication, maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt).

  • Exposure to outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, overhead storage, and materials handling.

  • Working with hazardous materials, including LPG, solvents, oils, grease, acids, caustics, paints, and batteries.

  • Some local travel required in course of workday to Tonkawa and off campus locations.

  • A variable work schedule (up to 12 hours with overtime paid after 8 hours per day) and some work on Saturdays. Overtime sometimes occurs with very short notice along with changing workloads and priorities.
