We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Motor Grader team as a Lifecycle Manager where you can have an immediate and significant impact! As the LifeCycle Manager, you will report directly to the Vice President of Products for Motor Graders and be charged with ensuring the health and profitability of the Motor Grader aftermarket parts business. You, and your team, will play a critical role in Motor Graders achieving targets that support Caterpillar’s services growth targets by developing and driving execution of strategies for Rebuild, Reman, Retrofit, Retail growth, Inventory optimization, and cost reduction initiatives to maximize profitability, product supportability and optimizing the parts sales portfolio. You will leverage your knowledge of the matrix organization with all process partners to ensure the critical aspects of the parts business are managed and parts opportunities realized. Further, you will champion the Motor Grader parts business and by providing training and strategy leadership.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a team of Parts and Services Marketing Consultants who contribute directly to driving parts sales for Motor Graders.

  • Lead the Growth strategy for current products, further the application of intellectual property, branding, supplier agreements, retrofit, up-grades & Reman for parts growth, and help support the NPI process.

  • Lead Margin Optimization, including pricing study definition, cost reduction project definition & execution, negative margin.

  • Collaborate and liaison with cross-enterprise partners on parts related impacts and decisions.

  • Lead the Governance on Motor Grader Parts Strategy.

  • Provide coaching to direct reports and team members on the Motor Grader Parts business.

Additionally, you will contribute to achieving results in:

  • Parts Inventory that includes parts stocking level, service level gaps, past dues, back orders, low volume & non-current parts turns.

  • Parts Business Teams & Roundtables which includes Engine, Hydraulics, Filters & Fluids, Ground Engaging Tools, Drive Train, Low volume, etc.

  • Life cycle solution improvements, including customer contracts (CSA, MARC, etc.) support, Builder/AMT file validation, repair option development, service efficiency & components improvement, to achieve lowest operating costs.

  • Parts marketing from sales program initiation through parts marketing and distribution organizations.

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive Customer Focus experience, including field facing experience, which demonstrates your knowledge of the values and practices that align customer and dealer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and the ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Demonstrated use of effective Influencing tactics and strategies where you have impacted decisions within and outside your own organization.

  • Extensive experience in Problem Solving that demonstrates your knowledge and ability to apply approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.

  • Extensive experience in Strategic Thinking that demonstrates your understanding of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning coupled with the ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors.

Top candidates will also bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Dealer distribution experience that led to understanding how dealers operate.

  • Aftermarket expertise

  • Experience within a product group, a parts organization, aftermarket, or logistics.
