Responsibilities

Job consists of answering a high volume of calls, scheduling patients for routine office visits, in-office ultrasound appointments, etc. The ideal candidate will need to be able to communicate well, be organized, and multitask. Will also require sitting for long periods of time and working in a busy environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer a large volume of phone calls for entirety of work shift assigned.

  • Schedule appointments from a compiled list based on doctor's follow up recommendation.

  • Know the preparation and protocols if there is one for each exam being scheduled.

  • Research doctor's orders, previous imaging studies, and clinical notes when needed.

  • Confirm patient's appointments, insurance, primary care doctor, and demographics.

  • Must document notes when accessing a patient account.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and organizational services.

  • Knowledge of staff responsibilities to accurately direct callers.

  • Knowledge of administrative processes, procedures, claims processing, and preparing patient charts.

  • Knowledge of basic math and modern office procedures.

    Skills:

  • Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls.

  • Ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact while multi-tasking, organizing and scheduling patients.

  • Ability to use spreadsheets and word processing software.

  • Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients.

  • Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients.

    Abilities:

  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to elicit appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person.

  • Ability to prevent, calm, and/or defuse irate callers and patients working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls.

  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.

    USD $16.00/Hr. USD $23.00/Hr.
