Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Coordinator Central Sterile to join our healthcare team. Your primary responsibility will be for daily operations and activities within the Sterile Processing department. You will also provide surgical assistance including tray set up, and cleaning and maintenance of surgical instruments. You will also respond to special requests from surgery and all patient care floors in a timely and customer service-oriented manner. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

• Demonstrates skill in planning, organizing and managing personnel resources in a cost effective and productive manner for the operations of the unit.

• Orient, train, and develop staff. Ensures education is completed for new and existing staff with any change or improvement in process.

• Prepares surgical sets, instruments, treatment trays according to prescribed procedures ensuring that all instrumentation is correct and accurate.

• Stores sterilized and prepared supplies and equipment in designated areas or returns to departments upon request or replaces one for one when used.

• Ensures that all floors and patient care departments have appropriate patient care equipment, instrument trays and other needed supplies available at all times.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.

• Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.

Job Requirements:

• Training or Surgical Technologist

• Prior Central Sterile Experience

• Sterile Processing Certification
