DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee personnel in the performance of all clinical and administrative duties related to nursing services, and be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the nursing services provided to inmates . You will ensure that adequate coverage is provided on all shifts by creating staff schedules, approving or denying leave requests, and authorizing overtime for all clinical personnel. You will review and evaluate the educational and training needs for subordinates; plan and conduct training; and arrange for further education and training to enhance nursing skills. You will perform the duties of a working supervisor by assisting the clinical staff in performing duties during peak work load periods and absences of personnel, and carry out all other general and nursing-related duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $94,118.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years as a Registered Nurse (commonwealth title); or
Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
