DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, you will provide skilled care and personal care to patients in a long-term care facility. You will collect specimens for lab work, assist with daily living activities, and ensure hygiene and basic physical needs are met for our inmates. You will also complete documentation and respond to emergency and intervention situations as they arise.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.

  • The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work hours for this position will be determined.

  • 1st shift is 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 2nd shift is 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 3rd shift is 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

  • 8-hour shifts, rotating days off

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or

  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

    Special Requirement:

  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
