THE POSITION

The Grants Center is currently seeking applicants for a Management Technician position to support various administrative functions associated with a wide variety of grant programs within the DEP. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The DEP oversees a variety of grant programs, which provide funding to address a wide range of environmental issues. The Grants Center is responsible for providing administrative support for many of these grant and rebate programs. In this role, you will contribute to advancing the department’s mission to protect Pennsylvania's air, land, and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of its citizens. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing rebates and grant agreements, as well as collaborating with the department's technical staff. You will need to enter data accurately and completely. You will also handle the preparation and processing of contracts, making sure all necessary legal signatures are obtained. Additionally, you will draft language for grant amendments, review invoice charges, and monitor the grant budget to ensure compliance with the sponsor’s financial limits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.
