The Office of Administration, Public Safety IT Delivery Center (PSITDC) is looking for a creative and diligent Database Administrator 1 to join our team of technical pioneers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

PSITDC's work is a strong, but often invisible, thread through the government services delivered through the PA State Police (PSP), Department of Corrections (DOC), PA Board of Probation & Parole, Office of Victim Advocate, Sex Offender Assessment Board, Firearms Education and Training Commission, PA Justice Network, and the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for advanced technical work in all phases of database development activities including supporting the application development lifecycle, planning, designing, developing, implementing, data migration, quality assurance, data cleanup, and data administration. Work also includes database operations activities such as database administration, database security, assuring availability, server monitoring, performance monitoring, capacity planning, SQL software installation and configuration, and Service Pack installations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2;or

  • Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field;or

  • Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration;or

  • One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
