DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our Custodial Worker 1s perform a wide variety of deep cleaning, general cleaning, and restocking of supplies. Deep cleaning is performed in areas such as resident rooms, common areas, offices, nursing stations, security desks, kitchen areas, staff breakrooms, and transportation vehicles. General cleaning duties include mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing of all surfaces including floors, walls, windows, handrails, elevators, resident rooms, resident furniture, and furniture in common areas. In addition, you restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and chemical cleaners as needed or requested.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week

  • Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience working in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital

  • Experience interacting with patients or residents

  • Experience cleaning bodily fluids or infectious waste

  • Experience clearing sidewalks and entrances of snow and debris

  • Experience mixing solvents and chemicals

  • Experience using manual or electrical cleaning equipment

  • Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital is preferred. (Experience might include such things as cleaning restrooms, resident rooms, offices or public areas, mopping, scrubbing, sweeping and buffing.)

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
