Genesis Corp dba Genesis10 Windows Middleware Engineer in Pennington, New Jersey
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Windows Middleware Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end and administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives
- Ensure production stability, platform remediation, patching and upgrades, mitigating and managing risk
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting/triage as L3 production support
- Collaborate with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on daily basis providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
- Create, maintain and support the application deployment templates, serving as a Windows architect and making recommendations on Windows best practices in application development
- Design windows Server infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability
- Provide technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas
- Communicate with business partners at an enterprise level
- Interface with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC); and executing production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision
- Build, configure, install and validate software
- Set up test environments
- Research and resolve issues using acquired knowledge and skills or by liaising with internal Client and/or external sources (internet, etc.), often under pressure and strict time frames
- Confer with internal and/or external departments to resolve issues
- Refer problems outside the scope of ability/responsibility to higher level Manager or related IT departments
- Analyze user issues to determine possible problem sources
- Source can include custom software issues, WAN/LAN issues, server/hardware issues, configuration issues, etc.
- Participate in systems or hardware related projects as assigned by the Environments Manager
- Ensure that corporate standards are adhered to in all aspects of software configuration/installation
- Create or update documentation
- Conduct or attend meetings
Requirements:
- Ability to troubleshoot complex .NET or Java-based application issues in a multi-tier development environment
- 5 or more years of experience of Windows Middleware Engineering experience DEVOPS experience Other products: BMC Remedy, BMC BladeLogic Server Automation
- Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS,DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
