$20 per hour plus competitive benefits package!

Under the general direction of the Camp Ranger, this position is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and general maintenance of the camp, both inside and outside. The position requires a commitment to meet superior guest expectations in cleanliness and customer service. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

Qualifications

· Must be a at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.

· Must possess a clean New York State Driver’s License.

· At least 6 months prior experience supervising people.

· General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and basic electricity strongly preferred

· Equivalent work experience will be considered. This position requires strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.

· Good communication skills are a must, as interaction with diverse groups of members, staff and the general public is a daily requirement.

· Individuals need experience and are able to comprehend general cleaning, disinfection, hard floor care, carpet care, wood floor care and related equipment operation and maintenance.

· CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire date.

Essential Functions

· Clean bathrooms, cabins, kitchen, program areas and any other areas by vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.

· Manage seasonal support staff and camp operations in conjunction with the Camp Ranger.

· Keep bathrooms around camp clean, utilizing camp seasonal staff.

· Make sure cabins and other building are well maintained.

· Clear debris in inclement weather or as needed.

· Trained in and follows all maintenance mandated topics (PPE, Blood borne Pathogens, Hazard Communications, Lock out/Tag out, Asbestos Awareness, etc.).

· Order and maintain maintenance and custodial supplies.

· Purchase and maintain cleaning equipment required. Inventory all equipment.

· Ensure all cleaning closets are clean and uncluttered.

· Supervise sub-contractors, when needed.

· Assist in coordinating and plan special workday events, i.e., Day of Caring, shutdowns, etc.

· Perform minor maintenance repairs and tasks as directed.

· Assist with set up for meetings, special events, etc.

· Provide leadership on custodial projects – painting, cleaning, contractors, etc.

· Report any damage or needed repairs to equipment, property, etc. to supervisor.

· Assist in the completion of off-season projects.

· Serve as an integral member of the total staff team.

· Respond to emergencies appropriately in accordance to his/her level of training and circumstances.

· Assist in special projects at the camp or other Association facilities.

· Maintain all required certifications.

· Attends all required meetings and training.

· All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Ability to work indoor and outdoor in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.

· Ability to move throughout the property including movement from building to building and outside the building.

· Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.

· Ability to bend, stoop and squat.

· May handle chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.

· Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues.

Salary Description

$20 per hour
