$60,406 Annually and a Free Family YMCA Membership

Under the general direction of the Associate Executive Director the Program Director is responsible for development, administration, coordination, quality and supervision of summer day camp, teen and family programming. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Overall responsibility for day camp, schools out programs, youth sports, family and teen programming.

· Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate all staff and volunteers relative to program responsibilities.

· Oversee day camp compliance, supervision, and quality standards. Also includes scheduling and purchasing of supplies as needed within budget guidelines

· Possess knowledge of Department of Health and YMCA of Greater Rochester procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines, and Branch regulations.

· Work with appropriate staff to obtain and maintain the Accreditation Standards as assigned.

· Conduct meetings, evaluations, parent contact, and day-to-day operations.

· Responsible for facilitating department revenue growth and overall enhancement and increase of programs and services.

· Accountable for department budget development and management for day camp, family, youth sports and teens. Ensure a strong fiscal position and appropriate resource allocation.

· Responsible for the overall facility appearance, and related equipment.

· Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association, DOH and/or OCFS procedures, including maintenance, emergency, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems.

· Implement programs that identify safety, quality, and excellent customer service as top priorities.

· Assist with the branch Annual Support Campaign and the United Way by serving in a designated role.

· Serves as a member of the total staff team including weekly duty nights at branch. Support total Association events as designated.

· Attend all required training and meetings.

· All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. A Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education or related field preferred.

· At least two years’ experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management.

· Minimum of three years’ experience creating, implementing and managing high quality and large volume programs.

· Must be self-motivated, hands-on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.

· Possess knowledge of various resources for programming ideas and the skills to utilize that information in directing daily activities

· High level of attention to detail and quality of service and facilities. Demonstrated commitment to high standards of member service and programming.

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills.

· Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses.

· Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to sit and stand for extended duration of shift.

· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.

· Must be able to lift up to forty pounds.

· Ability to work in all elements (i.e. outside in all weather).

· Ability to move from program site to branch or site to site, and is required to enter all YMCA environments including, program space, buses, schools, pools, and program area.

· Ability to supervise children by sight and sound at all times.

· Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues in the setting (i.e. aggressive behavior).

· Ability to move around the gym/field to assist children and supervise children with daily activities, social interaction, physical and emotional needs.
