About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Packaging Coordinator to become a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will ensure that our raw materials and finished goods are secure and meet the specifications of our customers while effectively minimizing costs and maximizing quality. You will lead innovative material flow process improvements and serve as our key technical expert in the development, implementation, and maintenance of efficient manufacturing processes. Your efforts will streamline material movement, enhancing overall operational efficiency. Collaboration is essential as you work with our cross-functional team to implement returnable container programs with suppliers and customers, ensuring compliance with packaging requirements to uphold our high standards internally and externally.

Your Responsibilities

Packaging

• Manage and review new and returnable packaging programs.

• Ensure compliance with customer-supplied packaging specifications.

• Generate packaging specifications to meet customer and Techform requirements.

• Collaborate with suppliers to develop innovative packaging methods.

• Create packaging systems to reduce costs and improve density.

• Develop sketches, specifications, and samples for packaging design approval.

• Enhance rack design for better optimization and return shipment density.

• Prepare and interpret CAD designs and specifications based on part characteristics.

• Consult with Purchasing, Materials, and Production to assess costs and feasibility.

• Maintain packaging databases and instructions for customers and internal processes.

• Review packaging requirements to support ergonomic practices.

• Develop a supply base that incorporates returnable packaging.

• Generate capital projects and documented procedures for labeling and packaging.

• Develop, test, and approve packaging considering various operational factors.

• Resolve packaging quality issues with corrective actions.

• Track costs and documentation for packaging deviations and recover from appropriate sources.

• Collaborate with Finance on packaging costs for new business quotes and engineering changes.

Material Flow

• Document and maintain current and proposed process flows.

• Lead efforts to improve material flow and efficiency.

• Develop and implement new processes to support changing business demands.

• Facilitate the implementation of change processes and streamline practices.

• Assist in the inspection of mechanical installations and racking systems.

• Improve or automate existing processes for better cycle time and ergonomics.

General Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.

• Contribute to the attainment of Techform's operating system goals.

• Focus on internal and external customer satisfaction in all duties.

Your preferred qualifications

• Completion of related post-secondary education.

• Experience in manufacturing and packaging engineering an asset
