Mover (1 Year Contract)

The Mover is responsible for assisting with the move of industrial goods. This includes packing, loading, transporting, and unloading items while ensuring the safety and care of the items being moved.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Packing and Preparation:

• Pack, wrap, and secure items using appropriate materials and techniques.

• Disassemble and reassemble furniture or equipment as needed.

• Label boxes and items clearly to ensure accurate and efficient moving.

  1. Loading and Unloading:

• Safely load and unload items onto and off of moving trucks, ensuring items are secured to prevent damage during transport.

• Use moving equipment such as dollies, straps, and ramps to move heavy items.

  1. Customer Interaction:

• Communicate professionally with customers to understand their moving needs.

• Address any concerns or special requests from customers in a courteous manner.

• Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive moving experience.

  1. Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Report any accidents, injuries, or damages immediately to the supervisor.

  1. Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with team members to ensure smooth and efficient moving operations.

• Assist other movers as needed and contribute to a positive team environment.

  1. Inventory Management:

• Keep accurate records of items moved, including any damages or discrepancies.

• Handle and document any claims for damaged items according to company procedures.

Summary

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Qualifications:

• SPM or Diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in moving or a related field is preferred but not required.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy items repeatedly.

• Strong physical stamina and endurance.

• Basic knowledge of safe lifting and moving techniques.

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

• Valid forklift’s license.

Work Environment:

• This position involves significant physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions.
