The Role: Designer

The Team: The Design team provides extensive graphics support for S&P Global products, from short articles to extensive reports and presentations. We work collaboratively across geographies to create a range of basic to complex infographics, maps, and data visualizations. The team is part of the Editorial, Design and Publishing group (EDP), which offers editorial, desktop publishing, design and workflow management services to help deliver actionable insights and equip our customers with the unique and essential intelligence they need to make decisions with conviction.

The Impact: You will produce graphics that will appear across multiple S&P Global products and external media, helping to showcase the company’s data to a broad audience. You will help clarify deep insights by making them easy to understand at a glance for our readers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create infographics and maps for S&P Global products, ensuring on-time delivery in a fast-moving queue.

  • Build design acumen through trainings, stretch assignments and shadowing opportunities with senior team members.

  • Work both autonomously and with the wider Global design team, taking day-to-day instruction/jobs from the Design Managers and escalating problems and roadblocks as they occur.

  • Ensure each project goes through a proper workflow to protect S&P Global brand and ensure high-quality delivery.

  • Collaborate effectively with other designers and provide coverage and support across different time zones to ensure deadlines are met.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 6 months to 2 years of professional experience with digital design, publishing, presentations and information delivery.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; understanding of RGB and CMYK color spaces.

  • Familiarity with cartographic principles or mapping software is a plus (ArcGIS, MAPublisher).

  • Strong English-language written and oral communications skills.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.

The Location: Penang, Malaysia (remote or local work) or Manila, Philippines (remote or local work)

Schedule: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (during training period); 4:00 pm to 1:00 am (after training period)
