Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Pelham, Alabama. As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for helping prepare for the company's audit and year end close procedures. This Staff Accountant position is a long-term contract position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close procedures

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Reconcile accounts and provide detailed reports

• Handle accounts payable work when needed

• Use Microsoft Excel to manage large data sets and perform data analysis

• Utilize MS Great Plains Accounting software for various accounting tasks

• Apply job costing methods in the manufacturing industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Proven experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in MS Great Plains Accounting software is a plus

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Job Cost procedures

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
