What You Will Achieve

The position requires analyst participation in immunoassay, or similar, activities, including but not limited to assay development, assay optimization, assay validation and clinical testing. The position also requires writing new methods, laboratory experiments and summary reports related to work activities. The job involves performing other tasks, as generally assigned by the manager, related to specimen testing and evaluation of new technologies. As an integral member of our dynamic team, the incumbent must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, be highly collaborative with the other group members, have an understanding of robotic methods used in assay development, experience in bioanalytical method validation, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.Your skills and expertise will ensure that all work is to be done in a compliant manner according to relevant Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines and Good Lab Practices cGLP and/or (Current) Good Manufacturing Practices (part of GxP) cGMP guidelines.

Your significant experience applying knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of assay development to support clinical testing will make you a critical member of the team. By being proactive in contributing to all team discussions, you will create an environment of mutual collaboration.

How You Will Achieve It

  • In this position the individual will perform immunoassay development/qualification/validation and analysis of non-clinical and clinical samples. This includes preparing samples, the use/maintenance of automation equipment and data analysis.

  • Collect, collate and analyze data on a per project basis to support troubleshooting, qualification, validation and other lab projects. Support assay training and transfer of methods.

  • Updating and writing documents associated with assays, including information/data archiving, SOPs and status reports.

  • Identify and report any experimental problems, proactively troubleshoot causative factors, and implement necessary corrections following discussion with supervisor.

  • Interact with external vendors to obtain quotes, and purchase reagents for clinical testing where applicable.

  • Satisfactorily complete all GLP and safety training in conformance with Departmental requirements.

  • Organize assigned work according to established departmental priorities.

  • Present progress on assay development and sample analysis to colleagues and senior management.

  • The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (such as maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste).

QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years relevant experience, or a Masters degree with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience is required

  • Laboratory experience in a biology, immunology and/or microbiology

  • Basic laboratory skills in the area of ELISA or other immunoassays.

  • Experience with experimental design and the interpretation of results.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with personal computers, including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software.

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of Lateral Flow technology and automation.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
