POSITION SUMMARY

You will broaden the scientific knowledge of antibody Fc-mediated functions in pre-clinical and clinical models to support various vaccine programs. Your primary responsibilities will be in the development and qualification of immunoassays to quantify antibody Fc-mediated responses. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience and consulting others. You may assist the team lead in training of junior colleagues. You will be part of a dynamic team and should possess a strong work ethic and collaborative spirit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate vaccine immunogenicity by developing and performing immunoassays that include (but are not limited to) antibody Fc-mediated assays, neutralization assays, and ELISAs in BSL-2 environments to test clinical and pre-clinical serum samples.

• Maintain cell lines critical for assay development.

• Apply technical skills and functional knowledge to complete projects/ assignments independently and proactively.

• Perform data analysis; summarize and interpret experimental results and present at team meetings.

• Read scientific and technical literature to stay current in the field and to bring new and improved technologies to the laboratory.

• Maintain laboratory notebooks in compliance with the Pfizer Laboratory Notebook Policy.

• Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, virology or a related field with 6+ years OR Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience of relevant research experience in academic or industry setting

• Hands on experience with cell culture and/or aseptic techniques.

• Experience with assay development.

• Theoretical knowledge of antibody Fc-mediated functions.

• Proficiency in software to perform analysis and presentation of data (Excel, GraphPad Prism, PowerPoint, and relevant scientific software).

PREFERRED QUALIIFICATIONS

• Experience with assay parameter analysis; design of experiment (DoE), assay validation.

• Advanced experience in troubleshooting protocols using automated liquid handling platforms.

• Experience in assay protocol development.

• Experience in designing and completing experiments independently.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work with infectious agents safely.

• Standard laboratory conditions and computer work- sitting, standing.

• This position may require the ability to stand and reach inside the hardware environment of various laboratory robotic equipment.

• Math skills for basic laboratory calculations.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,900.00 to $124,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
