Naval Facilities Engineering Command FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST for the NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC. Responsibilities You will apply experience and/or working knowledge government agency policies and reporting requirements in order to interpret authoritative directives and develop new, innovative accounting techniques and procedural approaches to problem solving. You will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, and financial management duties with Fiduciary responsibility to include but not limited to: Issuance of Navy Standard Documents (NSDs) and approving contract commitments. You will review, analyze and reconcile financial data and reports for accuracy and reliability in accordance with appropriate laws, rules and regulations. You will identify deviations and root causes in accounting practices utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and make recommendations for corrections or improvements as necessary. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of accounting principles, techniques, and methods to make recommendations and problem solve financial issues; 2) Utilizing financial management systems to extract, analyze and reconcile financial data and reports; 3) Interpreting financial policies and procedures to coherently respond to inquiries on financial matters; and 4) Formulating or reviewing budgets for programs in which funding requirements routinely have significant changes Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
