Wonderful opportunity for Cost Accountant (HLAD)

Location: Peachtree City, GA

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists Controller with financial reporting and analysis for the Hangar, Large Application Doors (HLAD) of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems US, Inc. This position provides financial support by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collecting and analyzing data about a company’s operational costs

  • Setting standard costs of manufactured goods

  • Developing and analyzing cost standards

  • Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis

  • Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.

  • Performing account reconciliations

  • Preparing and presenting their findings to management

  • Recommending changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit

  • Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data

  • Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

  • Generate and send out invoices and credit memos to customers and sales company.

  • Maintenance and updates of sales reporting and revenue recognition files.

  • Other projects as directed by the Director

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential

  • Accomplish organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements

  • Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills

  • Effective organizational, stress, and time management skills

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people

  • Eager and positive attitude.

  • Strong work ethic, flexibility to work under tight deadlines, strong interpersonal skills.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
