Description AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority. Utilize standard reports and develop additional reports as needed to monitor costs and performance against budget Ensure financial transactions are completed daily on an accurate basis, including but not limited to production, inventory, shipping, accounts payable, patron milk and other bulk dairy liquid transactions. Review and submit month end summaries and reconciliations to the corporate office within assigned deadlines. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training office employees. Ensure employees are cross trained on accounting and reporting functions and processes. Coordinate with production management in developing and maintaining Bill of Materials and costs. Assist with calculations involving capital expenditures and payback analysis. Coordinate reconciliation and valuation of all finished goods and supplies inventory Coordinate profit improvement justification - productivity tracking. Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported. Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures including purchasing, record retention, credit card, signature authority and fixed assets. Prepare purchase orders for properly requisitioned items. Coordinate with corporate purchasing department for purchasing of supplies, packaging and other items with company-wide pricing. Safeguards confidentiality of company information. Coordinate balancing of milk and liquid biproduct, reconciling weights and tests of all incoming and outgoing loads Reconcile and invoice sales of liquid biproducts with outside customers and producers Assist division manager with annual budget preparation. Runs necessary financial reports to compare to budget. Creates statistical reports (KPI's) for weekly and monthly review by leadership team. Serves as liaison to corporate IT department regarding computer hardware, software applications and equipment needs. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience. 3+ years of relevant work experience. 3+ years of supervisory experience.
