KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering Division is looking to add an IT Systems Administrator/Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to our Weaponeering And Stores Planning (WASP) team at NAS Patuxent River, MD . * This is a full-time on-site position M-F. * You’ll join our team providing infrastructure management, including configuration and data management, and systems administration of computer laboratory assets necessary to perform systems and software engineering, test and evaluation for systems such as the F/A-18A-F, EA-18G, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General IT support in a Windows Active Directory based environment deploying common office-environment software applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) on commercial hardware. Support Azure DevOps based Source Control system.

  • DoD Cyber Security support (i.e., completing STIGs, remediating vulnerabilities, providing plan of action and milestones [POA&M], etc.).

  • Support the cybersecurity posture of the DoD IS via the utilization of COTS and GOTS tools such as Tenable ACAS, Evaluate-STIG, or SCAP Compliance Checker IAW DoD/DoN guidelines. Manage DoD IS package in eMASS through all 7 steps of NIST RMF with the end goal of obtaining Authorization to Operate.

  • Coordinating and scheduling system maintenance in a production environment. Evaluating COTS/GOTS solutions for support software and hardware. Supporting team members and government customer on-site with office IT issues. Application support, upgrades, and maintenance.

  • Direct customer support including troubleshooting issues, understanding requirements, and implementing new capabilities. Document and update guides, manuals, diagrams, and other written deliverables as needed. Perform tasks to comply with the contract Performance Work Statement. Perform day-to-day sustainment duties as requested.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    Citizenship + Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with existing Department of Defense Secret Security clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

    Education: Associate degree in IT or relevant program. BS/BA in Information Technology or related degree is preferred.

    Certifications : Either a CompTIA Security + CE certification or one certification from each category below.

  • IAT-II ( CCNA-Security , CySA+ ** , GICSP , GSEC , Security+ CE , CND , SSCP

  • IAM- CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, HCISPP

Certification in Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) network scanning Certification

Experience: 3-6 years of experience in IT and supporting Cyber Security programs as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).

Technical experience:

  • Experience supporting an Active Directory-based environment

  • Experience updating and renewing SSL Certificates

  • Experience with eMASS, VRAM, or XACTA

  • Creating and maintaining documentation for [ATO, Disaster Recovery Plans, etc.]

  • Experience performing System Administrator duties

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Technical Experience:

  • NIST SP 800-37 and SP 800-53 (Risk Management Framework)

  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 or later

  • Experience with Microsoft System Center (Data Protection Manager, Virtual Machine Manager)

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops 2022 or similar tracking system

  • Experience with US Navy network systems (such as RDT&E)

  • Experience recording and tracking hardware configuration of system assets

  • Interest in professional development and skills and mastery

  • Familiarity with general cybersecurity principles
