Job Description

Ingalls Post Delivery Lead is responsible for cost, schedule, quality, and execution LPD 17 Class and LHA Post Delivery/Warranty services for Ingalls Shipbuilding. Performs all necessary duties as the Warranty/Post Delivery Lead for the LPD and LHA ship classes which includes, but is not limited to, support, coordination, and integration efforts with SUPSHIP Gulf Coast, PEO Ships and their Waterfront Managers, LPD and LHA Ship Construction Program Offices, and major subcontractors that will perform tasks during Window of Opportunities between Delivery and OWLD. Ensures effective communication and overall quality contract performance and provides Program Management direction and oversight to all Post Delivery/Warranty efforts. 

Interfaces daily with the ship and the Customer.

Receives 2-Kilos and direct Navy tasking, determines magnitude of the problem, alerts appropriate organizations, investigates and determines correct course of action.  Ensures course of action is inspected, completed and approved by an authorized person.  Responsible for completing open DD250 line items; including driving open items to closure post-ship delivery  and assisting, as needed, prior to ship delivery.  Provides deck plate surveillance for Subcontractor and OEM representative working aboard the ship.  Ensures proper procedures, including safety, are followed and repair is of the required quality.

Reviews and approves invoices pertaining to Post Delivery/Warranty repairs or replacements and authorizes payment.  Oversees Subcontractor time and material.

Ships out faulty parts/material for repair or replace to support Warranty/Post Delivery repairs.  Delivers parts to the vessel to support Warranty/Post Delivery repairs.  Escorts OEM Techs to the vessel to support Warranty/Post Delivery repairs.

Provides daily status report to the customer and HII Leadership

Communicates with Buyers, engineering, and contractors to support Post Delivery tasking.

 

Basic Qualifications

6 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.  A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree. 

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant shipboard/ship repair experience.

Current technical and program level knowledge of Amphibious Ship Classes.

Shipboard engineering experience and knowledge of the waterfront ship repairs, overhauls, and customers is highly desired.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, online databases, web portals, etc.
