The Role

Candidate will serve as the Director of Emergency Management and Security for Ingalls Shipbuilding. The candidate will be responsible for managing all security matters for the division which includes leading security professionals under his/her cognizance. The candidate must have business acumen (security practices and regulations) in Physical & Logical Security, Crisis Management, Emergency Management, Insider Threat, Business Resumption and Industrial Security Management Principles. The business acumen includes, but not limited to, strategic thinking, leadership and people development and excellent communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to quickly and accurately respond to changing circumstances and situations. The candidate must be able to proficiently evaluate problems, formulate comprehensive decisions to achieve positive outcomes and refocus on new priorities. In addition, the candidate manages the integration of all security initiatives, budgets and programs in support of government requirements. The candidate will be an active participant on the Corporate Security Council. From a leadership perspective, the candidate should foster employee engagement and facilitate change where necessary. The candidate must ensure contract compliance requirements are met to achieve operational and business goals. The candidate must provide guidance and professional development of security managers and professionals at all levels. The candidate will lead the organizations focus on a team concept and collaborative environment where common processes are standardized. In addition, the candidate will work directly on tasks which ensure effective management and implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions that are in place to protect people, property, information and the HII brand.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience), plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Must have Top Secret DOD Clearance or be able to obtain TS clearance. Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience.
