Raytheon is seeking an experienced Combat Systems Installation & Test Technician in Pascagoula, MS. You will apply your experience, technical expertise, communication and leadership skills toward the planning, integration, test execution, and mission systems activation onboard Zumwalt Class ships. Coordinate mission systems installation, integration, test and activation efforts with government and other contractor personnel.

Position Location – onsite in Pascagoula, MS.

What You Will Do

  • You will work with, and at times lead, an installation and test team tasked with mission systems activation aboard SCN and in-service US Navy surface combatants.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and report results.

  • Perform root cause analysis to aid in the resolution of hardware, software installation and configuration defects and failures.

  • Perform software installation and modification as required.

  • Physical requirements of this position will include: the ability to work in confined spaces, climb stairs, lift and carry 35 lbs., work in an industrial environment, and live/work for short periods at sea onboard on a US Navy vessel.

  • Provide Mission systems operation and training in support of and during integration & test or crew training efforts.

  • Perform ORDALT/SHIPALT installations and conduct testing.

  • Travel domestically and/or internationally up to 50% of the time.

What You Will Learn

  • Collaboration across engineering functions to drive results and resolve issues.

  • Interfacing with internal and external customers to find technical solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience. Experience in lieu of education option.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in at least one of: operation of shipboard Command & Control (C2) systems, communications, computers, ship radar systems, or ship HM&E systems.

  • Experienced in the use of LINUX/UNIX operating systems.

  • Software Systems Engineering experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • CISCO network management experience.

  • Experience with the Zumwalt platform and Total Ship Computing Environment.

  • Experience in an engineering or military leadership role.

  • Experience working directly with a military customer / end user.

  • Experienced in the use of LINUX/UNIX operating systems.

  • Software Systems Engineering experience.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
