Amazon Senior Technical Program Manager, AWS Center for Quantum Computing Pasadena, California

Description

We are looking to add a Senior Technical Program Manager to our team. You will pair with technical leads to plan and execute a continuous stream of small exploratory projects that support our technology roadmap for quantum hardware. The projects you will be working on span a broad range of topics, including the development and implementation of new qubits and architectures. These projects will be in the early research and development phase, with some involving our first deployment of critical technologies to scale our quantum processors. This role will operate in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity, where the scope and deliverables are fluid, but where a successful applicant can navigate these challenges to make detailed plans. Given the diversity of projects, a successful applicant will have an opportunity to gain familiarity with all aspects of quantum computing, and thus requires a capability to multitask and a curiosity to dive deep to engage in scoping, planning, and managing project risk with technical stakeholders.

You will partner with other TPMs and work across team and project lines to identify and unblock resource conflicts. And, you will leverage your experience in managing complex technical programs to make data-informed decisions at programmatic level. In this role, you will support the definition and implementation of project management standards across the Center of Quantum Computing. Additionally, as an experienced project manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping our project management practices across the organization. This includes improving our tools for scoping, developing schedules, and monitoring projects, analyzing and optimizing the utilization of resources, and promoting visibility of project progress to other teams and senior leadership. Familiarity with system engineering topics that intersect with project management, such as quantitative risk management, reviews, and requirements management is highly desirable.
