Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Pasadena, California. This role is crucial to the accounting operations of our organization, providing expert guidance on financial reporting and fund accounting. The selected candidate will lead daily accounting operations, supervise the accounting team, and ensure that all accounting procedures support effective program implementation and flawless audits.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

• Serve as the resident expert on GAAP and OMB, providing guidance on financial reporting and fund accounting.

• Supervise the accounting team and ensure the effective implementation of accounting procedures and systems.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting practices and pertinent laws and regulations.

• Educate staff members across the organization on accounting procedures.

• Explore ways in which the accounting function can support overall operations.

• Utilize various accounting software systems for efficient financial management.

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and other relevant financial guidelines.

• Manage budget processes using Great Plains (GPAC) software.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proven expertise in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential

• Familiarity with DCAA regulations and requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Must understand and be able to manage Budget Processes effectively

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Ability to comply with all legal and company regulations regarding non-discrimination and fairness in hiring

• Must be able to pass all legally permissible pre-employment screenings

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
