The opportunity

The VP Global Corporate Affairs, US Lead, is responsible for creating and implementing a long-term internal and external communication strategy for the business in US as well as overseeing and managing day-to-day communications activities.

This candidate is responsible for elevating Teva an exemplar of innovative and generics medicines and leading communications to enable all aspects of the company’s Pivot to Growth strategy, its people, and its Purpose. This role will partner across different functional leads and external and internal stakeholders in the US on the development of strategic communication plans and materials with a commitment to continuity, alignment, and effectiveness. This person will play a key role on the US Leadership Team (USLT) as well as the Global Corporate Affairs Leadership team (GCALT) and lead the region with innovative executive thought leadership, product and brand communications, internal engagement excellence and best practices in proactive and collaborative external communications.

The role reports directly to the head of the US Business and to the SVP, head of Global Corporate Affairs

Job Purpose and Business Impact:

  • Business partner to EVP, North America Commercial and USLT

  • Sets strategy on internal and external business communications in line with the region’s business priorities and corporate strategy (in alignment with global corporate affairs)

  • Provides guidance on how business decisions will impact the reputation of the company and how to position these decisions both in US and for the enterprise.

  • Works closely with global corporate affairs on all relevant news for top global/regional tier media to assure both reactive and proactive transparent communications.

  • Provides leadership messaging and positioning internally and externally (town halls, stakeholder messages, speaker opportunities, and more)

  • Partners with HR and other enabling functions to seamlessly communicate key announcements including priority employee engagement initiatives and programs.

  • Facilitates public-facing speaking engagements for the US in alignment/collaboration with broader global communications strategy.

  • Partners with global corporate affairs on preparing US-specific narrative, QA and briefing across the business for earnings and other key corporate initiatives.

  • Partners with US ESG lead on communications to support signature programs and activities.

  • Supports US Litigation and crisis communications and partners with Legal and the head of GCA to address issues that impact and affect the company -- leads crisis management process for US.

  • Sets strategy for owned, earned, and paid media as well as internal communications for the region in partnership and alignment with global.

Key Qualifications:

  • 15+ years' experience as a Pharmaceutical Communications leader in innovative medicines or a hybrid of innovative and generic/biosimilars

  • Proficient in FDA regulations and guidance for product communication; scientific understanding

  • Experience in navigating and remediating crisis and challenges including partnership on government affairs activities.

  • Change management and employee engagement understanding and experience preferred.

  • Leadership experience in successfully matrixed organizations; meta-leadership capabilities

  • Elevated level of business acumen and experience leading executive leadership programs, high-level communications, and ability to counsel independently in high-profile industry issues.

  • Highly articulate with excellent written communications and presentation skills

  • Mastery of social media and new media channels

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications

  • Highly motivated, well organized, creative, and innovative, and possesses suitable time management skills.
